How cool are these Bedlington Terriers!
This past summer, I was accepted to an out of this world pet photography retreat called Barkjour. The organizers and our instructors were some of the word best pet photographers! While this retreat has been held in some spectacular places over last couple of years, as you may have guessed this one was to take place in France! Oh the excitement!! Oh oui!
Late August, I hopped on the plane from Boston to Paris, traveling overseas all by myself for the first time ever! After getting stuck at the airport for a day and having to evacuate due to some suspicious bags left behind, I was finally on the train and on my way to Nîmes, France. When my cab pulled up to the Château we were staying at I had to rub my eyes in disbelief. It was the most majestic castle-like place I have ever seen! It was built in the 11th century and was sold in 1156 by the King of France to the bishop of Uzès.
I had the most incredible time that week, sharing it with some very talented photographers from all over the world, who were also all very lovely people. During my adventures through the South of France, I got to photograph dogs in some spectacular locations, drank plenty of French wine and ate tons of delicious fresh food! Sounds amazing, right?! Well, it was!
